About the importance of coffee

There are some things that are undervalued: roasted chickpeas to eat as a snack, pencil sharpeners, postcards, the pleasure of opening the window before breakfast, soap bars, going out for a coffee with a friend or by yourself and take your own time to do so, without discussing about work.

I have been enjoying the slowness of actions lately, in my mind I’m trying to turn a snail into a Ferrari because my brain (unfortunately) runs way too fast.
I try to walk rather than to run, to make my mind dance rather than to spin it around, to look for natural elements even when they are not there. To take the time to have a sit and enjoy my coffee, without checking my watch, without playing with my phone, without having to be distracted by something. This represents one of the hardest challenges of modern society.

Where there is no nature, there can be the natural flow of things, like for instance the pleasure of enjoying your cappuccino while your cheeks are glued to the chair and you are making eye contact with people, rather than with technology.
Only then your cappuccino will taste better, your muscles will celebrate your body, your forehead will look less wrinkled and the annoying waiter will sound funny.
If it is seems so hard to do – I mean to have a seat without thinking about what to do next (now it seems like present is gone, all that count is what to do next) – we can just think about our grandparents who used to spend a whole afternoon sitting on a chair, drinking and playing cards.
They were not looking for stress. At all.
